Attendance Matters!

Written by

The school rewards pupils who attend 100%, in July 2014 we held a free prize draw for all pupils who attended school 100%.

The 100% was based on attendance throughout the academic year, here is a photograph of William with his new bike and scooter bought with the vouchers awarded by the School in July 2014.  William is very grateful and excited about his new scooter and bike and thanks the school very much.

At St Thomas More we expect children to attend school on a regular basis. Research has shown that there is a direct relationship between attendance and potential achievement. Therefore holidays during term time will NOT be authorised unless there are EXCEPTIONAL circumstances. All requests for holidays during term time MUST be put in writing to the headteacher, who will consider your request and respond by letter.

If your child needs to visit the dentist or doctor please try to make appointments outside of school time if possible.

All illnesses must be reported to the office by 9:15am. Please send a letter in to your child’s class teacher on their return for our records.

It is important that if your child is suffering from sickness or diarrhoeathat they do not return to school for 48hrs after their last incident. Please inform us if your child has any other infectious condition or head lice so that we can work with you to try and minimise its impact and spread throughout the school.
